It’s OK to Brag a Little…

It’s OK to Brag a Little… by Donna MacNeil on August 8th, 2017

We brag about other people for a living and know that every achievement, milestone and job well done tells a little more in the narrative of someone’s life, career, or company story.   It’s important to stop and acknowledge the wins along the way, big and small.

You don’t have to shout it from the rooftops (…of course we will if you need us to), but even the most humble among us should share what they’re proud of.   Don’t let what’s still left to be done get in the way of the wins that are already happening.  Here’s why:

  • That’s the whole point right?  Take a moment and savor it.
  • Don’t wait for people to notice. Life is busy and moves fast, despite the best intentions not everyone notices the good stuff on their own.
  • People like good news stories – especially ones you’ve worked hard for.
  • Memory fails – we often forget what we’ve done, so keep a record!  I always encourage everyone to keep a bragbook as a place to start.

So, the next time something great happens, give yourself a pat on the back, smile and show off those feathers.
