Job Description

ChizComm Ltd., is currently looking for a Director, Marketing & Communications to join our growing team! We are a multi-faced, award winning marketing and communications firm that is continuously bringing creative and innovative strategies to international companies in a wide range of fields including toys, entertainment, consumer electronics and lifestyle.

Job purpose

This role will be expected to work closely with direct reports on their team as well as the Social, Digital and Creative Departments to create meaningful and impactful PR and Marketing results for our clients. This role has a supervisory component and reports to the President.

Duties and responsibilities

This role will be expected to work closely with others to help create meaningful and impactful PR results for our clients.

Manage one or more Associate Managers that supervise a team of associates who all report to you and up to the head of the Department.

  • Lead your team in strategy and execution of all PR and Marketing initiatives for a number of clients
  • Creating innovative marketing and digital strategies
  • Assist in the writing/development and editing of various communication materials
  • Liaise with select clients, media and suppliers
  • Client management – understanding client needs, managing expectations, and keeping the client informed on strategy progress
  • Media relations strategy development, management and execution
  • Project management of strategies and events for multiple clients at one time
  • Leadership with direct reports including hiring, reviews and feedback, managing timelines and due dates
  • Manage a budget given to you by your Director
  • Researching industry topic trends for story pitching
  • Competitor analysis of media reviews, story angles, etc.
  • Manage existing media relationships, make new connections
  • Monthly reporting
  • Other duties as required



  • 5+ years working in a Public Relations or Marketing role
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • An agency setting preferred
  • Experience in the consumer products/entertainment/toy and kid space would be considered an asset
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional client management skills
  • Ability to managing multiple client projects at one time
  • Able to handle a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent time management, organizational, analytical and logistical support skills
  • Ability to self-manage workload and the motivation to grow with evolving job criteria and challenges

This job requires a person to check in sometimes in the evening or on weekends due to the nature of the communications, social media, and client services space. Some light travel is required at least 2 times a year. Clients may be more demanding than others and would require more diligence and attention.
